US gas storage rises to 2,548bn cu ft

US working gas in storage rose to 2,548bn cu ft in the week ending 20 April.

The Energy Information Administration says this represents a net increase of 47bn cu ft from the previous week.

Stocks were 872bn cu ft higher than last year at this time and 908bn cu ft above the five-year average of 1,640bn cu ft.

In the East Region, stocks were 450bn cu ft above the five-year average following net injections of 42bn cu ft.

Stocks in the Producing Region were 350bn cu ft above the five-year average of 691bn cu ft after a net injection of 1bn cu ft.

Stocks in the West Region were 107bn cu ft above the five-year average after a net addition of 4bn cu ft.

At 2,548bn cu ft, total working gas is above the five-year historical range.
