Fitch and S&P revise Banco Santander ratings

Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor's Ratings Services have revised Banco Santander's rating after a two notch downgrade of the Spanish sovereign rating.

Fitch ratings for Banco Santander are:

Long-term debt & deposits A from AA- (negative outlook)

* Subordinated debt A- from A+

* Preferred Shares BB+ from A- *Short-term debt & deposits F1 from F1+ Rating from Standard & Poor's Ratings Services are:

* Long-term debt & deposits A+ from AA- (negative outlook)

*Short-term debt & deposits A-1 from A-1+ (negative outlook)




At 8:57am: (LON:BNC) share price was -2.5p at 541.75p
