FTSE tipped to open little changed this morning

PRE-OPEN REPORT: Headline shares are tipped to open little changed this morning, according to financial websites, with political upheaval in Europe remaining a focus and investors wary ahead of UK GDP.

US & ASIA

In the US last night, the Dow rose 74 points at 13,002, the Nasdaq fell 9 points at 2,962 and the S&P500 added 5 points at 1,372.

In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently up 100 points at 9,568, while the Hang Seng ended the morning ahead 16 points at 20,693.

WTI crude oil traded at $103.77 a barrel and gold settled at $1,642 an ounce.

LONDON MARKETS

The latest UK GDP reading will be published at 9:30am.

In the corporate diary today, interim results are due from GlaxoSmithKline, Talvivaara Mining Company and Virgin Media.

Final results are scheduled from Aseana Properties, Carpathian, Johnston Press and Polymetal International.

Trading statements are expected from Capital Shopping Centres Group, International Ferro Metals Group, Standard Life, DS Smith and UBM.

Agriterra, Altin, Bodycote, GlobeOp Financial Services, Premier Energy & Water Trust, Reed Elsevier, Sable Mining Africa and SocialGo host their AGMs.
