FTSE tipped to open flat to slightly lower this morning

PRE-OPEN REPORT: Headline shares are tipped to open flat to slightly lower this morning, according to financial websites, on a busy day for corporate earnings, with Barclays kicking off the bank reporting season.US & ASIA
In the US last night, the Dow rose 89 points at 13,091, the Nasdaq Composite gained 68 points at 3,030 and the S&P500 added 19 points at 1,391.
In Asia today, the Nikkei was recently up 11 points at 9,572, while the Hang Seng ended the morning ahead 106 points at 20,752.
WTI crude oil traded at $104.07 a barrel and gold settled at $1,647 an ounce.
LONDON MARKETS
In a busy corporate diary today, interim results are due from Aquarius Platinum, AstraZeneca, Character Group, Fortune Oil, Namakwa Diamonds, Oil & Gas Development Company, Shell, Shire and Unilever.
Final results are scheduled from Camellia, Hasgrove, Mail.ru Group, OSJC Center for Cargo Container Traffic Transcontainer, Vectura Group and Whitbread.
Trading statements are expected from ASOS, Barclays, British American Tobacco, Cobham, COLT Group, Go-Ahead Group, Howden Joinery Group, Meggitt, Segro, Senior, SVG Capital and Taylor Wimpey.
Admiral Group, Advance Developing Markets Fund, Alpha Pyrenees Trust, AstraZeneca, Berendsen, Bouygues, British American Tobacco, Cobham, COLT Group, Croda International, Groupe Eurotunnel, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, Meggitt, New Europe Property Investments, New World Resources, Powerflute, SpaceandPeople, Talvivaara Mining Company, Taylor Wimpey, Tomco Energy, Torchmark, Ubisense Group and Wolfson Microelectronics host their AGMs.
